What Do Nuns DO All Day?
Life in a monastery may sound boring to some, but one soon discovers there just aren't enough hours in the day! Besides the cooking and cleaning, laundry and dishes and bill paying, that are part of any household,
there is always correspondence to answer (as well as the phone), a library and archives to keep, visitors to greet, a chapel to maintain, liturgy to prepare, hymns to practice...
Our community supplies communion wafers to many churches in south and central Texas; we make ceramic nativity sets and small statues,as well as other items such as rosaries and homemade bread to sell in our gift shop; we create and publish websites, brochures, booklets and prayer cards.
In all we do we strive to seek and use the talents God has blessed us with, and truly have our work flow from our life of prayer and flow back into our prayers so that all things become for us a prayer and a communion with God.
